"Flame suit on" Tire manufacturers (or resellers) do not give the proper tire pressure for a said vehicle. See the vehicles owners manual or tire sticker on door jamb for correct pressures. 50 PSI is incorrect inflation pressure for the Vanagon.

This thread (50 psi) has been dribbled to death here on this list.
