Wes, if you don't want to wait to start your van after it has flooded, just disconnect the ECU, crank it a bit and it will start and stall, then reconnect the ECU, and it will run OK(probably). What you are doing is cutting the fuel supply, but leaving the ignition in operation. The plug on the ECU is simple to disconnect and pull away from the socket. Your ECU is easily reached in the back left-hand corner of the engine compartment, just ahead of the tail-lamp assembly. This works for 83.5 to 85 model years with the digijet FI. They seem to be much more prone to this problem than the later digifant models. Chuck Hill |
