<DIV>i am trying to set timing on my 87 syncro.&nbsp; well, according to bentely you are supposed to get the engine to an idle, after instaling equipment, then disconnect the tII sensor, bring engine to 2000-2500 rpm then check timing.&nbsp; well, as soon as i disconnect TII the engine dies.&nbsp; tried again, samething, won't even start with it disconnected.&nbsp; what is going on, bad tempII or something else.&nbsp; i checked voltage and it is good.&nbsp; also i noticed the sensor is different on this van compared to my 90 gl.</DIV>
<DIV>update, my problem is once engine has idled for a while, 7 minutes, it starts to run bad, engine starts to choke, spits some black smoke, back fires then stalls.&nbsp; mixture may be off. i have swapped ecu no change, swapped afm, no change, check 02 sensor, good, swapped idle control unit, no change, check all wiring, good, grounds clean.&nbsp; what else?</DIV>
