Folks,

I've recently found, what i consider to be, the best all-around mechanic. His name is Mike, of Mike's Import Auto, north side of Minneapolis. He has solved two long-time issues with my van, and since his repairs everything has been about as good as it can be.

So, imagine my surprise when he replied, when i asked about a coolant flush, that he never uses Pentosin Blue and advised against it. He says he has had bad experiences with folks vans who used the blue stuff.

Being a man of few words he didn't go into detail on what those bad experiences were. I imagine he's dealt with people coming in who haven't changed their coolant in decades and his coolant opinions are suffering from guilt by association.

But, still... i'm a bit surprised.

I found a reasonable source for Pentosin Blue and was planning on asking Mike for a full flush and refill before the temps bottom out here. Anybody out there know of any reason not to use the blue stuff?
