surely you're joking? Yeah, they'll be as concerned about safety as they need to be to avoid any big financial worries, but in the world we live in, "responsible", before "company", means as profitable as possible. In some cases this means they'll want to avoid some big lawsuits and will implement some safety features. In others (the majority, I might add), the profit calculation might not come out in safety's favor. Hell, just at the end of the summer, another worker was killed at the Ford auto plant in Detroit by a falling piece of steel, as wokeres are made to work on the ground under the pieces being moved by heavy equipment. I don't have the exact numbers in front of me, but it was something like the 30th on-site "accident" related death there in 3 years, at a plant where the life expectancy is 60 or 65. Do you think that "responsible" truck building companies never are willing to sacrifice safety for profit? Maybe you're right, and responsible companies are just nowhere in sight.

Sorry for this rant---I'll take any further discussion off list.
