Subject: Generic Wiring of Bosch O2 Sensor/ Cat implode
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

Been a while since I posted anything(life is great when the GL doesn't require any work). As a precautionary measure, i am replacing the O2 sensor on my HalTech ECU. it came from AUS with an AC brand O2 sensor and the local Advance Auto parts guy cross referenced a Bosch unit to comply. the problem is that the AC model(AFS-75) has a male 3 prong end and 4 wires to it and the Bosch(#15703) has a 4 prong female. Going from the Haltech wiring diagram, they have a wire carrying the 13.8v, a ground, and the O2 sensor wire. The new Bosch has two white wires, a black and A GRAY. If I went strictly by the Pin A/Pin B/PinC set up, I believe I would have some wires mismatching. Does anyone know if Bosch is consistent with which color wire does the various functions of the O2? ie. whites being the O2 wires/ black being ground/ Gray being the 13.8v wire? Or some other combination? Since this is pretty much a specific issue, it's okay to p mail and save the rest of the listees the mail box stuffing. Thanks in advance.

On another note, I never realized what a clogged catalytic converter could do to engine performance. Was lucky to cripple home from the Quad Cities yesterday. the clue was some white junk that had dripped out of the tailpipe overnight and the folks we were staying with pointed out that possibility. Low rpm performance towards the end of the 170 mile trip was almost nil. Should have it on the road as soon as I figure ouot this O2 wiring issue.
