GEX is designed to be cheap. Reuse of parts without benefit of a critical eye. Assembled by the cheapest semi-skilled labor available. New parts are always the cheapest available. It't the best way to go for a one summer sand rail where ca-chunking motors is a status and ego builder. For street transport, expect 0-20,000 miles life. 5%+ will come out of the gate knocking. 1% might last 40,000 miles. Takes 3 times the skill/time of GEX and 3 times the cost for new parts to make a motor that will easily get you 100,000 under dealer maintenance ideas. Will also say, under PROPER assembly and maintenance inspections, 200,000+ is ho hum, AC or WC. 3 times the money for 10 times the mileage is the only rational course if you want to keep the van and use it for it's intended purposes within it's designer's intended criteria.
