As long as you use a smart charger your not going to do damage that
way. The cold however can do damage to some types, charged or not. I
use a true gel cell not AGM battery for the house battery on my
adventurewagen and depending on how cold it gets and how long it's
going to sitting in it the manufacture does tell you to bring it in
side.  AGM and floods do better in the cold then marine gel cells.
