When I sold that parts van I made it very clear what was, and what was not
included. I can't be blamed if he decided that he also wanted to purchase
the rear mattress (in the fabric Chris Turner calls "boogie woogie"), and
the swivel seat bases.
I bought the van as a parts van. As stated earlier, I am transplanting a
Porsche engine and transmission into my own '87 GL. The GL was an automatic
so, among other things, I needed the complete shift linkage, the pedal
assembly, etc. I paid $500 for the parts van, plus towing to get it to my
house. I then removed the things that I knew I needed for my project. I test
fit bits and pieces from my project into the parts van before actually
installing it into my "good" van. After that I removed what I could from the
parts van so that I could recover a portion of my $500. People do this all
the time. I clearly listed all of the parts that had already been removed
from the van. He knew what he was buying and he was very happy. He left me
great feedback on eBay. It was a good transaction for us both.
The only thing I would have done differently was removed the windshield
before offering the parts van for sale. You never know when you might need a
new windshield, and it was in good shape. Unfortunately, the buyer wanted
the windshield. Fair is fair. He got the windshield.
Cheers,
Bruce
