after pumping once, they are very firm). Blake if the first pump feels different than the second than it is safe to say you have air in the lines or something wrong on the brake job. Sometimes you can trash the master cylinder by bleeding the brakes. If you have not done the master cylinder in a while I would replace it and rebleed. The way to avoid trashing the mastercylinder is to bleed the system by not pushing all the way to the limit of the cylinder. gary Date: Fri, 24 Oct 2003 15:25:47 -0500 From: Blake Thornton <blake@MATH.WUSTL.EDU> Subject: Spongy Brakes I just replaced the calipers on my 84 westy and after bleeding the brakes twice, my brakes are still spongy (after pumping once, they are very firm). Any ideas? Do I bleed again? Do I double check for leaks again? Do I live with it? Thanks for any ideas! Blake St Louis 84 Westy
