sorry I omitted that important information about ventilation:

Drivers side back window slid open about 1 inch, curtain closed. Top left in the down and locked position (along with the important blankets I couldn't find).

Not a well ventilated vanagon. usually I open the top canvas window flap corner about 6 inches as well. Not this time---it was cold, man! In a group of about 12 busses 5 were using Coleman cat. htrs and one fellow, who shall go unnamed, was plugged into house currant.

And a thanks goes out to (Wisconsin)Jim & Patti Ellis for their hospitality, and allowing me to camp my water cooled vanagon at Der Busbesitzer Gruppe Global H.Q. in preparations of the 3rd annual All VW Rendezvous, Swap & Show Off event.
