Honda stuck to its guns for the US market, refusing to drop the Prelude badges just because the name was already used there for a tampon, contraceptive or something along those lines (though as to Why Honda sells some of its cars there as "Acura", go figure).

Some other stupid and/or inappropriate names: Mitsubishi Chariot Thanks (no thanks!) Hyundai S Coupe (which everyone seems to think should be pronounced scoop) Toyota Celica (always mispronounced selleeca) Daihatsu Applause Ford Fiesta (should have been Siesta) Pontiac le Mans Chevrolet Monza Ford Explorer Suzuki Cultus Toyota Celsior

That's because a certain major cigar company has those names wrapped-up as a .
