Blake, hate to see you spend money when you can avoid it. Perhaps if there is a second bleeder on the caliper that is the case or the hand brake adjustment if the shoes are too far from the drums. When bleeding to avoid problems to the master cyclinder avoid pushing the cylinder all the way to the end. Small slow pumps that are within the limits of your normal braking avoids damage to the rubbercups in the master cylinder. When bleeding start from the furthest point and work toward the front. Do the rear right first and open the bleeder just enough and not too much. If this does not work perhaps a new master is needed. good luck and you will solve this, gary Date: Fri, 24 Oct 2003 17:26:05 -0500 From: Blake Thornton <blake@MATH.WUSTL.EDU> Subject: Spongy Brakes + adjusting handbrake

Hmmmmm. I hope I didn't screw up my master cylinder, but I guess I can just replace it. I'll try bleeding it again tomorrow too.

I replaced the calipers because one of them was sticking (it was quite stuck on one side). I will have to look at the rear cylinders, but they were replaced a few years ago so are likely not bad (but who knows).

Before I did my calipers, the brakes were fairly firm (but stuck on one side). I bought my calipers from busdepot, so I assume they are alright.

Also, how do I adjust the handbrake? Do I just crawl underneath and adjust the bolt on the brake cable going back there?

Thanks for all the suggestions!!! Blake
