Yes, many of us have done this. The Quantum TD motor is an easy fit
using the original Vanagon diesel mounting parts. The Golf/Jetta TD is
NOT. The Quantum TD uses the same exhaust manifold as the factory TD
Vanagons but the Golf/Jetta TD manifold mounts the turbo where it
interferes with the left side engine mount. You will need to use the
Vanagon diesel oil pump pickup and oil pan and provide a place for the
turbo oil return line to attach.
