I do it a bit differently. I go around the outside and inside of the seal with a PLASTIC or WOODEN spatula. This is to loosen the seal from the painted surface. I do not use a metal screw driver as that will scratch the paint and then you'll be doing it all again when the rust hits that spot.

I then get in the van and push with my feet on a corner - VERY - carefully, as my wife is on the outside to make sure the window does not fall. Once one corner is loose, then I go around the rest of the window pushing till it is free, the it will just comeout from the outside.

It took one window to figure out the rope trick/aid when putting the window back in. M
