The simplest way not to get them stolen is not to run them... this is what I do. ;-) David Marshall Fast Forward Automotive Inc. 4356 Quesnel-Hixon Road Quesnel BC Canada V2J 6Z3 http://www.fastforward.ca mailto:sales@fastforward.ca Phone: (250) 992 7775 FAX: (250) 992 1160 - Vanagon Accessories and Engine Conversions - Vanagon, Transporter and Iltis Sales and Importation - European Lighting for most Volkswagen models

Is there any available device to lock hubcaps to a vehicle? Or is there a method? It seems to me a thin gauge cable could be fastened through vent holes in the hubcap and through the wheel. But this would look unattractive, probaby rattle, negatively effect balance of the wheel, and be marginally effective at best. I had all four hubcaps stolen off my VW Fox in front of my house yesterday at about 5:30pm. I guess the truth is it's a wonder they weren't stolen sooner seeing as they're easy to get off and away with in what amounts to seconds, and LA is a city of crime. I guess in a town like this you're mostly it mostly relying on a lack of a market for specific hubcaps to keep them on your vehicle. ANd maybe for the most part that has to be enough. I'd like to figure a way to secure the hubcaps on my Vanagon to keep them from the same fate. Any ideas appriciated. Thanks Jeff 83.5 Westy LA,CA |
