The cylinder attached to the clutch pedal is the master cylinder. The one on the transmission is the slave. (This terminology will make sense if you think about which one controls the other.) If there's brake fluid leaking from the clutch master cylinder, it needs replacing. Also, have you tried bleeding the system?
