Volks, Recently I visited a remote region of the Pryor Mountains, approx 60 miles south of Billings, Montana. This is a Bureau of Land Management area and home to a herd of approx 170 Wild Horses. These animals are reputed to be of Spanish ancestry. Management of this herd emphasizes preservation of the herd's heritage and attributes of wildness. After traveling approx 20 miles up the mountain over 4x4 trails I reached an incredible vista. At 8500 ft I was greeted by breathtaking views of surrounding valleys, plateaus and canyons. But the best was yet to come .... Traveling a little farther I turned a corner and was awe struck. The sight ..... the first of the 40-60 wild horses that I was to see over the next two days. An incredible experience. I just uploaded a Photo Album .... I hope you enjoy. Photo Gallery Link ...
