only trouble is, nowhere in any of that 'relearn' section does it mention vanagon or Digifant or Digijet.

and nowhere in the Digifant or Digijet literature or test manuals does it mention anything about learning or relearning. the ECU's on the vanagons don't learn how you drive ... they have a digital memory 'map' of how long to spray the injectors based on input from engine speed, engine temperature, intake air temperature and volume, oxygen sensor output, and throttle position.

that's it. pull the plug on the battery and you lose nothing ...

the memory map is still there. the program in the ecu takes the injector timing from a total of 256 operational data points. and based on those data points, the injection timing can be altered between a theoretical 65,000 different opening duration points.

remember, the Digijet was developed as a 'refinement' of the Bosch L-Jetronic analog fuel injection system. and the Digifant system was a refinement of the Digijet ... same basic system with a the digital map (and a different idle control system).
