Well, what can you do... every 15 years or so, you have to shell out $150 for a new window regulator. Just put $10 in a jar every year, then you'll have enough for that new regulator in 2018.

From all I've heard, the genuine items ARE the crappy ones... they certainly seem to be failure-prone.
