I have to second this conclusion as well. The cost of a wire transfer for
the customer is about the same as getting a certified cheque and couriering
it to you. Within 48h the money is in your account and once it is there
they can not remove it.
Unfortunately, in this world there is no more trust. The banks here will
take US cheques from me ONLY if they hold them for 21 business days. This
is really their way of saying they are too much of a PITA and there is a LOT
of fraud out there with cheques.
If the customer really wants the vehicle and has the money, the wire
transfer is the only way to go. They should have no objection to it at all.

If he is going to the bank to get a cashiers check, why not get him to
just tell the teller to transfer the funds straight to your bank
account? Once you see the funds in your account they can't be
removed.
I deal with clients all over the world and most just transfer funds to
our account. Then we send the goods.
