Steve, This has been done quite a few times. First take a look at the discussion group subaruvanagon at groups.yahoo.com. To get an introduction visit the Links page. Several people who have done the conversion have documented their effort on the page. Kennedy Engineering makes adapters for various engines to VW transaxles. www.smallcar.com has a few good pages about conversions they have done for customers. I just drool when I look at the photos and think about driving over the pass at 70mph. Good luck, Tom Moritz > >Date: Sat, 1 Nov 2003 15:13:57 -0500 >From: steven brendemuehl <sbrendemuehl@EXCITE.COM> >Subject: subu conversion > > Has anyone ever transplanted a suburu flat 6 into a vanagon. If so is there any material on this transplant. It seems like a fasinating way to revive my 85.stevekc8tpr > |
