I believe you are talking about the bolt that holds the starter inplace. It has a special head on it to keep it from rotating when you remove the nut on the other end. This bolt goes through the starter and through the engine case. You need to go inside the engine compartment and remove the nut from there, then the bolt with the odd shaped head can be slid out from underneath. From what I remember, this nut is the upper right, behind the throttle valve area, in the engine compartment. Just use an open-end wrench to remove the nut.
