That bolt is lock-tited in place. Use some heat and an impact wrench. You may have to lower the rear of the engine to get in there. Dennis

I'm trying to get the crank bolt off my 83 diesel Westy to get to the seal. I'm having a real time getting the bolt off. Is a little propane heat permissible? Do I need a 6-point socket and go at it with a hammer, or do I keep my feet against the tire and keep tugging on the 1/2 inch breaker bar? Opinions and advice welcome. Thanks, Jim |
