With the departure of my Audi, I no longer have a use for my Hex-Com interface and the VAS 1551 adapter.

Along with the free downloadable software from Ross-Tech you can use the Hex-Com to access and reset all the readings on a OBD-2 equiped VW or Audi, and with the VAS 1551 adapter you can also get to the earlier 2x2 and 2x3 OBD-1 outputs.

Stock Vanagon owners will have no use for this, but Eurovan, TDIs, and conversions to later inline 4 or 5 cylinder VAG engines could find it useful as long as you kept the original OBD connections. It can, for instance, be used to graphically time TDI engines.

The Hex-Com is up on Ebay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=43989&item=2440859399 Top bid right now is about $75.00, it cost me $289 new a year ago.

There is a link to my other sales where the 1551 adapter is also offered (owners of OBD-2 cars don't need the 1551). The bid right now is $10- this is a $50 item new.

There is a lot more detail available at the listing, but let me say that if you've every spent time under an Audi dashboard with a LED diode trying to count flashes, this is for you!

Thanks

Tom F.
