Subject: Help!! auto trans woes
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

My 89 Westy is shifting fine when cold. When warm it is: hesitating, then going into reverse with a "clunk" Forward engages without hesitation, but seems to stay in 2nd longer than it used to.

What I did: drained the sump and refilled with Mobil 1 syn auto trans fluid. about 1K miles ago. I thought I did my research and thought the fluids would mix ok. Could this be related or could this be something that may have come about anyway? There is about 80K miles on the trans. and has never given any trouble. . Until Now

TIA

Fred 89 Westy 98 NB TDI
