In 1996 i drove from, Montreal to Cape Cod with my Civic (those days!!!! before i was "less intelligent" and i was camping with a tent!!!), average per tank on freeway: 450km (279miles), so about 1.5 tank, when i came back i did an amazing 650km with one tank (US Fuel), is MASS fuel better? was lucky? An Alien was hidding in my engine? do not know, but that a sure fact!

On my last trip to USA/Mexico with my sick 73 Westy i spent over... $1500 to 2000 in fuel, i tried every company, every grade and i didn't see any difference in millage!!!!!!!!! or power, BUT, my engine was sick like hell. In California, where i had most of my problems, i caught water in one of my fuel refill!!! 3 days to find the problem! (average millage per tank 225/250km)

This summer my engine was back to normal power, i went to cape cod again, average millage per tank (with single weber well tune) was 350km, same in Canada and USA!

On my last big Vanagon(87) trip to the west cost, my best ever millage per tank was 512km with one tank, that was in Nevada, average was 400/450 km per tank, about the same in Canada.

So my conclusion: None, an Alien was hidding in my Civic engine. i just don't care about fuel company, every brand / grade is the same for me, the cheapest is the best.
