Subject: 88 Vanagon oil pressure problem question part II
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Dear Vanagurus,

First, let me say that YOU GUYS are the reason why I own a Vanagon! Well, I kind of like them too, but you guys are such a helpful group that my gratitude just cannot be expressed. I'd also like to give thanks to vanagon.com and vanagain. com. OK, here's my question. You guys have been helping me with my oil buzzer problem. Can anyone clue me in to just where this mysterious oil pressure switch is that's located near the water pump? The only one I can find is the one between the push rod tubes. Here's what I have done so far. I changed the oil filter to a factory VW one. I also changed the oil pressure switch between the push rods. When I went to take off the wire I found that it was about to break off. I installed a new connector and plugged it back in. After topping off the oil I started up the van. The good news is that I didn't hear the noise that was giving me chills before. Some of you suggested that because it has sat so long the lifters may be sticky. Hopefully, that is it! I still need to find that oil pressure switch that's near the water pump. If anyone can send me a photo of the area (showing the switch) and/or how to unearth it via e-mail I would really appreciate it. I need to figure out these issues before I list the BUs for sale. I don't like selling "mystery" machines. Thanks again! Dave vwdude1957@aol.com
