Ok, I know I'm totally a mental midget when it comes to Vanagons
and Westfalias. I have been there, done that, 4 times now. No excuse,
I drool often.
Nevertheless, I have an idea to assist some of us in justifying our shared
love(read stupidity). I would be willing to go first if I can get four
or five of you other people (and you know who you are) to agree to do the same.
I would itemize my investment in this vehicle to assist others in figuring out how much
to invest in our Vanagons. I noticed the other day JNMOTLAG@SPRINTPCS.COM
has opened an album for photos we can all add to. I like that idea.
Those of us who are not capable of doing the work ourselves (but who none the less love these
things as much) will be able to give those of us who have done all work
themselves a good idea of how to value their own labor.
I for one would be very interested in knowing where we all fit into the
Vanagon/Westfalia maintaining/restoration world. It could also help
when talking to ins. companies who don't give a rats patut what you
have done to these old vehicles.I would think we are
looking at two categories, vehicles that go somewhere everyday, and vehicles
that just sit and look pretty 11 months a year.
Is this a dumb idea? Who's got an opinion.
