I haven't used them for gas but have used two, one for gray water and the other for extra potable water and they fit quite neatly up there. A suggestion re the spare wheel: might be a good investment to attach a spare carrier to the hatch jam, the kind that swings out so you can open the hatch. That in itself may have some accommodation for another water/gas container but maybe better made of metal.
