I couldn't resist another mexico story... Some friends took the aforementioned catahoula cur - a pretty dog but neurotic as hell with mild dysplasia, it never could walk very well - for a weeklong surfing trip, from Flagstaff. The dogs owner didn't go (and no helath certs., I'm sure). Trip went great, but on the way back they get rear ended by a Mexican truck while parked on the shoulder helping someone out. Everyone was ok, but the dog was GONE (and the car totaled). After getting out of the hospital, they had no more car, and ended up taking the bus back. So, five days later, back in flag, the dogs owner starts to feel guilty, decides to go down and look for the dog. Ha! Its around San Luis, south of Yuma, so not THAT far. Two days of looking later, right before giving up - of course - they find the dog mixed in with a ragtag buch trotting down a dirt road. The luckiest day of that dogs life. Moral of the story - never give up on your dog. or maybe its your dog will be just as happy without you. later, Jeff |
