I've replaced the tank on my '87 Westy and have the old one to dispose of. I replaced it because the van was painted - not because there is anything wrong with the tank. It is pitted and nasty looking, but doesn't leak. Right now it's full and I don't want to waste the gas in order to ship it (Getting green in my old age). If no takers around PDX I'll rig it up to my bbq and offer it again when it's empty. I had expected the local propane shop to be able to reclaim the fuel, but they only offered to "burn it off" for me. Tom Salicos |
