braddish@MAIL.COM:

Sell the POS standard rectangulars on EbaY. Buy some round buckets from Schwaia or your local recycler. Install 7" H4 ROUND, Sharp cutoff lenses, Cibie is best, Hella is OK, Bosch is OK, others are generally not worth the money as their patterns are unsuitable. I use 100/80W because of the low beam power. Get a different grille, sell the other one. The SA grille system includes additional 5.75 lenses but is around $300. Some replace with $$$ E-Code Rectangulars but spares are not easily found.

Lots of stuff in the archives but in a nutshell, run a direct 12ga wire from battery through inline fuse to RHS of grille area. Install two relays. Activate relays from existing headlight wiring. Connect the H4 bulbs to the relays one for high one for low.

The problem is not intensity but pattern. No cure for bad pattern except replacement with better lenses.

cheers,

pensioner
