Subject: Re: <no subject> (1.9 vs 2.1 heads)

I seem to remember that the 1.9 heads provide a slightly higher compression ratio. Other than that they are the same. For those out there who know ..... is this true?

Also, when I got my '85 Westy, it had (has) a VW head on the driver's side and an AMC head on the passenger side. I'm not too concerned about the mixing of brands (my '84 has one of each), but how does one tell if one or the other is a 2.1 head? Based on other "questionable" acts of maintenance or repair, I wouldn't swear to anything the PO(s) did.

Thanks,

Mike
