Volks,

Since I'm down for Engine repairs I've decided to use the time productively.

I'm working with Steve from Syncro.org and Ron from Vanagon.com to create a "Combined VW Repair Shop " document.

As many know, each of these great sites has a listing of VW Repair shops.

There's some duplication, but mostly different entries on each list.

Also I have managed to collect "too much" repair shop data from my own and friends road experience's.

The intent ...

- Combine all available data into one document. - Keep the document updated by editing as new info comes forward - Post a brief summary of your own experiences (good or bad). - Shop info for Busses, Vanagons & Eurovans (WBX and AC) - Shops in all of North America ... Not limited to the US. - Make this document available to any VW lists or groups for posting at their discretion.

Currently I'm about 60% of the way thru combing all the data sources.

So I'd like to ask everyone to submit their own VW shop nominations today.

Please email me directly at:

roadguy@roadhaus.com Subject: Repair Shops

Also ... Let me know if I can include your name and email address in the listing.

Here's some examples of the format.

"Mike Cory is the owner and principal mechanic. He is definitely one of the most honest, knowledgeable, and trustworthy mechanics I have ever been to. He works on a LOT of Vanagons and is even very familiar with Syncros. His prices are very reasonable, and he is very easy to talk to - he will even explain procedures to you as he works on the car, and doesn't mind being watched while he works. I would give Cory Motors the highest rating possible for honesty, reliability, knowledge, and quality of work."
