Hi Skip and welcome to the list!
Your jack is OEM as I have seen....... Some owners have utilized a
variant??? VW scissor jack  (bought mine from Bus Depot) that provides a bit
more stability and is not as long as the screw jack in your photo (easier
for me to store in the Van). The "counter intuitive" hinge in the jack arm
works fine, if firmly and fully inserted into the jack points. Even thought
the hinge seems to pivot in the wrong direction, when locked into the jack
point on the body of the Van;lifts the Van with relative ease.
