Subject: 85 Vanagon; Water Pump Complete

The pump is installed sucessfully. The cross over pipe leak checked good. I used the copper sealer and a 1 1/4 outside diameter 1/8 thick oring...suggested by someone on the list...If 1/8" was the same as 3mm on my micrometer...maybe 1 1/4 is the same as 25mm, as someone else suggested. I used the copper sealer directly on the pipe prior to placing the O-ring on, then I applied a thin coat of sealer over the ring...with my finger I applied a light coat of copper sealer in the housing area as well. All info was taken with great thought... Filled/Bled/leak checked complete. Thanks! LR PS my thoughts on the oring material after searching for the right size and material oring are: Oring Material seems to be made of the same stuff. The oring behind the water pump is the same as the oring at the thermostat and the oring I used for the pipe/housing area was a Black Oring as well...I'm sure if I spring a leak there in the near future I shall let the list know!
