Literally  German Method. As described by the good Dr Tim it describes
an engineering approach to components as parts of a system as in
braking system. All components are engineered and manufactured out of
materials that are designed to work in a complementary and harmonious
manner. He's saying, don't mess up the formula with after-market, out
of spec pieces.  That's a save now, pay later situation.
