My wife and I and our 2 greyhounds took our honeymoon in the Vanagon. We went to southern Missouri, into the mountains. We arrived at our destination a day after they had a huge ice storm. The roads were clear, but everything else had a thick layer of ice all over. Absolutely beautiful in the sunlight. So, of course, we grab the dogs and go hiking up into the crystal-coated hills. That was very cool, until the ice on all the branches started to melt, break off, and land on our heads. We would hear the tinkle of ice and throw one arm over our heads and the other over the dogs. Nice little adventure, getting pelted by an icicle dropping from 50 ft. The van was flawless the whole time. We went careening down fire roads, through river crossings, all sorts of fun stuff. Great time. Bill Marshall 85 GL Tiico "Pandora's Box" Aurora, IL |
