82 air cooled westy Hello, I have had an oil leak that has been running into the passenger side heater box for a while. I have fixed the oil leak and now I need to get all the oil residue out of the inside of the heater box. I thought I would just bring it into a machine shop to have it ran through a hot box. However, I noticed that there is actually some sort of insulation inside the heater box. It is a thin layer of white/grey material that resides between the exaust manifold and the body of the heat exchanger. Does anybody know if this material can stand up to a vigorous degreasing treatment? jake
