Hi Don, ETKA is the VW/Audi CD-ROM parts catalog used by VW dealers. It is an interactive listing of parts for a wide range of VW and Audi models of the last 25 years. It will run on almost any Windows PC but needs a 17" monitor to give 1280 x 1024 as it won't work at lower resolutions. The parts are displayed in much the same way as on the old VW microfiche system but the software allows interactive linking between the various diagrams and parts lists. The dealer version I have seen includes on-line ordering from Volkswagen UK. Obviously this is not available in the "consumer" version, which is often sold on eBay UK. Until 2002, there was a Russian web site with a freely accessible on-line version of ETKA, but that has now been closed down. HTH. Tony |
