Speaking of the Vredestein Transport Snows, I just bought a set. My local dealer here in Boston wasn't sure if he could get his hands on them, so I called Jim Breault in Kearny, NJ (the next-nearest dealer); he has them in stock for $76 apiece and has dealt with Vanagons before. He warned me that shipping would be expensive; we got to talking and it turns out that he's about a half an hour from my folks. His daughter has a store in a town even closer to my parents' house, so Jim is driving the tires up to her so that I can pick them up two days after Thanksgiving, on my way back north. Unbelievable -- customer service isn't dead after all.
