I've gone synthetic for the Engine and Tranny, and I change the engine oil ever 10,000 kms and tranny oil every 2 year. I have tried the VW orange 'proper' coolant, but it leaks from EVERY joint/coupleing, so I have gone back to the best 'green' stuff I can find and flush and change every year.

IMHO Frequent changing of fluids is as important as the quality, but I figure that quality and frequency is a good combo. Cheaper than getting one's engine or tranny rebuilt. And the engine revs better and starts more easily. m2cw Malcolm
