The right-hand piece can be seen in illustration 38-00 (MG:2, SG:56) as part 071 256 304 B, though a better picture is at 19.2 in the Bentley. This bolts to the fan housing in 2 places, one of which is the "front" of the fan housing, and this latter bolt can be a real PITA to get in. (Probably why this hanger frequently gets left out in rebuilds.) The left-side bracket(s) can also be seen here as item 11 (071 256 303 B) for Federal or item 12 (Part number unknown) for California. --------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Young '81 Vanagon Lafayette, CA 94549 '82 Westfalia --------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeff Strickrott" <jstric01@CS.FIU.EDU> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Wednesday, November 19, 2003 10:41 AM Subject: Re: 82 Vanagon Heat Exchanger/Exhaust hangers?

It hangs off of the fan shroud. My shop forgot to attach at this point and I have been running now for about 2 yrs like that.
