Damon,

Ignore the lower insurance advice, ICBC won't give you a break on insurance for a second car, and they don't recognize the Westy as a camper, since most people in BC use them as daily drivers.

If your strapped for cash, don't let a van come between the two of you. Sell it.

I've parted ways with lots of cool cars, mostly English or 4WDs. I recognize now that if I didn't sell my first Olds 442, I probably wouldn't have bought an old IH Scout, or a Landcruiser, or an MG, or my Triumph, (blah, blah, blah,) or my Westfalia. I'd probobly be on some muscle car mailing list arguing about early 70's GM option codes. Variety is the spice of life and a foolish consistancy is the hobgoblin of little minds, (adored by many brand loyal consumers).

You can buy another one (or not) easily here in BC. Lets face it they're cool, but relitively unreliable. (That's why I bought the spare ECU from you...). If you do sell, sell or trade on Vancouver island. They get more from them there. I recently saw a 90 Westy with 300,000 kms for 19,995 in Duncan! You could always move to the island where speed limits and driving conditions are Vanagon friendly.

It's just a vehicle...

OK, Flame me,
