Subject: I got the 215/75R14 to fit in the carrier of my 88.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

I took a 32" piece of 1" angle iron and welded it below the brace that had the carrier's hinges on it. The hinges had been grinded and air hammered off. With the hinges welded back on the lower 1" angle iron the tire fits and can be screwed down all the way. So, it's all original parts + 32" of 1" angle iron.
