Bomb, my man, in my experience, the most obvious cause of the coolant overflow tank filling up after a hard run is that the pressure cap is not working properly because some minor amount of debris is preventing one of the valves in the pressure cap from fully seating. Your original cap tested faulty so it is possible that you have some manner of crud circulating in your coolant system and this crud has once again caused the pressure cap to shit the bed. My advice would be to first test the replacement cap. The newer style caps, the ones which I have seen are blue, seem more prone to this problem because of the construction of their valving. It is also possible to visually check for dirt on the valve seats if you know how to remove the pressure cap innards without destroying the cap. Then it is simply a matter of carefully cleaning the pressure cap components and, of course, the entire cooling system.
