I purchased a new actuator and adapter from Camelback VW a few years ago. It fit and worked fine. The part number for the door actuator was 701-959-781, the harness adapter was P/N 701-972-390. The costs were $6o and $18.45 respectively in September 2000

I personally would hesitate paying more than $30 for a used one since the rubber bellows tend to crack and leak and the actuator mechanism is then on borrowed time! Buy used only if you know the rubber bellows is in good condition!
