Volks, While preping my van for its first big camping trip from Burlington Vt to Fl Keys I'm running into a road block. Mechanic went through the van 100% I'm in the process of fixing some stuff my self he will be doing some. He said my right head has a slight seep and that most of his customers would not be doing anything for a year or so. I was going to have him do the heads but fear of needing new heads has scared my wallet with xmas and other repairs his thought was if we did them sooner then later we should be able to save the heads. Since I fixed my coolant leak and driven about 400 miles it has not lost any coolant and will be makeing a 500 mile round trip trek to my folks for Thanksgiving. Should I just fix the heads after the trip when the van is parked for the rest of the winter. The motor was installed by VW (vw rebuild) about 25k ago but it was in 97. Any advise would be great.
