Subject: water pump question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

In the course of changing my belts today I noticed that the water pump pulley does not spin freely as I might have expected. It's easy enough to turn by hand but it does feel like there is some resistance, perhaps bearing wear? What I'd like to know is whether or not I should replace the water pump as a preemptive measure. I have no idea if the amount of resistance I'm noticing is normal or a sign of trouble in the future. There are no symptoms of problems in the cooling system and the pump does not make any noise while turning.
